Abstract
Watermarking (WM) codes are analyzed from an information-theoretic viewpoint as identification (ID) codes with side information that is available either at both transmitter and receiver or at the transmitter only. For the former case, formulas are provided for the ID capacity and for achievable error exponents. For the latter case, upper and lower bounds to the ID capacity are derived
