Abstract
The paper describes the performance aspects and the underlying theoretical principles of a general-purpose program library for nonlinear microwave circuit analysis and design. The programs are based on a frequency-domain nodal description of the linear part of the circuit and on the harmonic-balance technique for the nonlinear aspects. Emphasis is placed on two peculiar features of this package, that is, its ability to carry out nonlinear circuit optimisations in a straightforward way, and the availability of a vectorised version yielding outstanding cost-to-performance ratios when run on a supercomputer. The application to advanced problems such as generalised mixer analysis and optimisation is also discussed.
