New method for predetermination of true saturation characteristics of transformers and nonlinear reactors

A new method has been suggested for determining an analytical expression for the true saturation characteristic of transformers and nonlinear reactors from the manuracturer´s data giving the conventional r.m.s. saturation curve. The accuracy of the technique is verified by the experimental results. The existing concept, namely, that the algorithm used for converting the true saturation characteristic to r.m.s. form is not invertible into the process of finding the instantaneous from the r.m.s curve, is found to be untrue.
