Abstract :
This work proposes a simple model of trajectory of rays, based on “knife-edge” diffraction, to calculate the intensity field received by a mobile station inside a forest environment with relief discontinuity. To validate the model, a radio propagation measurement campaign was carried out, in the county of Benfica, near the city of Belem in the State of Para. The measurement system consisted of a fixed laboratory transmitting a carrier at 900 MHz and a mobile laboratory specially mounted to measure and store the instantaneous values of power of the received signal. The results were compared to the simulations made with the proposed model, which presented the best performance compared to other models use in this work
