  • Abstract
The Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi MARA has been engaging industrial partners in delivering elective curriculum for almost 15 years now. The efforts are part of its endeavour to develop strategic partnerships with the industrial sector that can drive the graduates to become more competitive in a global knowledge economy. The original curriculum for the B.Eng.(Hons) in Electrical Engineering has undergone several revisions since then but the faculty has been steadfast in offering final year Selected Topics courses to be delivered by instructors from the industry. More recently the faculty has partnered with Collaborative Research in Engineering, Science & Technology (CREST) and TalentCorp to develop a structured and sustainable Selected Topics curriculum that addresses the needs of the Electrical and Electronic Industry more specifically. In this paper we present our initiatives in developing the industry-relevant course and the outcomes of the implementation of this course which was offered to two batches of final semester students. We also present other initiatives that have emerged while putting together a framework for the program.
