Abstract :
In this paper, we analyze the advantage and drawbacks of the current masterstation automation architecture, and propose a new hierarchical masterstation´s automation architecture. In the hierarchical architecture of masterstation control center (MCC) system, all substations and MCC are interconnected into an integrated system. The hierarchical architecture MCC system supervises and controls unmanned substations all-around instead of the dispatch system, and the dispatcher can move his attention from trivial business to analysis of the grid dispatch and optimization. It is an integrated system in which all information is shared entirely, graph files, running data and operation parameters can be stored redundantly and be kept consistent. It is a real coordinated automation system which realizes the coordination of all parts and optimization of functions, and is an efficient support restoring system. The hierarchical architecture offers a number of advantages, such as high reliability, improved automation level, and efficient flexibility and open access to information. The architecture and its design are discussed in detail in the paper.
