Abstract
This paper reviews the current state of mobile-satellite propagation data and models. The majority of mobile-satellite characterisation has been at L/S-band, the relevance of these measurements to Ka-band is considered. The available data at 20/30 GHz are chiefly for fixed-satellite services; the applicability of these measurements to mobile-satellite service applications is discussed. Recommendations for further modelling and propagation measurement campaigns at Ka-band are made
