Abstract :
This paper presents a single element dual port MIMO antenna for Long Term Evolution (LTE) band application with Isolated Mode Antenna Technology (iMAT). The proposed antenna consists of two rectangular slots and a T-shaped slot etched on the radiating patch. These slots generate two resonant modes at 2.170 GHz and 2.625 GHz. A wide bandwidth is achieved at VSWR 2:1 to cover LTE 2300, LTE 2500 and 2.4 GHz WLAN. On the ground plane, a rectangular slot is etched at the bottom edge overlapping with T-shaped slot on the other side of the PCB. By employing these combinations, good isolation between the two feed ports is achieved. The radiation pattern of the proposed antenna exhibits omni-directional characteristics.
