Abstract
Osteotomy is needed in surgical operations. Bone saw is used in that case. But the bone cutting using saw is very hard operation to the doctors and also to the patients. New innovations for osteotomy are needed. Laser systems can be applied for this purpose. CO2 laser has the long history of medical application. For medical application of lasers, carbonization is a complicated problem. And it is known for the laser osteotomy that carbonization will become small by water sprays. We examined the possibility of CO2 laser application for osteotomy by the experiment using chicken bones.
