Abstract
The paper is based on the aspects of the design, construction and testing of a speech-controlled mobile robot. A set of five commands are stored in the vocabulary, namely- front, back, right, left and stop. The focus of the paper is to test the speech-recognition system on the mobile robot platform and then, based on the results, decide how effectively it can be interfaced to a speech controlled wheelchair application. A functional prototype of a mobile robot platform was developed and interface with the iARC GUI. To verify the satisfactory working of the speech recognition system the reliability estimation of different speech commands was performed on the mobile robot based on several factors. All the tests and results were based on the experiments carried out with the help of iARC VI.00 GUI.
