Abstract
The paper tabulates field decay for Hertzian transmitting loops in free space and in the presence of conducting ground planes, taking the practical effects of impedance coupling and loop dimensions into consideration. The resulting field attenuation rates correlate well with open area test site (OATS) measured data and can be readily used to extrapolate radiated emission limits at arbitrary distances in the extreme near field of low frequency loop sources.
