Abstract :
Edge detection is a common approach for detection of meaningful discontinuities in gray levels. The edge detection can be done by using lifting Wavelets. Wavelets improve the quality of edge detection due to its multi-resolution technique and it is faster for real time applications. The current widely used edge detection algorithms are Sobel, Roberts, Laplacian etc. The core idea of these algorithms is that the edge points correspond to the local maximal points of original image´s gray-level gradient. However, there are failed in some cases for detecting edge detection of an image.
