Abstract :
Efficiency of any surveillance system depends on the efficacy of moving object detection. Background subtraction, temporal differencing and optical flow techniques are mostly used in the moving object detection techniques. In this paper a hybrid technique is proposed based on background subtraction and temporal differencing techniques to detect the moving objects in outdoor and indoor scenes. The efficacy of algorithm is validated using different test videos and comparing with background subtraction and temporal differencing methods.
