Harmonic content diagnosis in an electric power distribution system

Under the current conditions of the Argentine electrical sector, quality is a relevant factor in electrical service. Failure in meeting the quality standards gives rise to special bonuses in customer tariffs. Certain quality attributes, such as the admissible interruption rate and the tolerance in mean-level voltage, have already been introduced in previous years. The current practice is to regulate the tolerable disturbances in the network (e.g., flickers and harmonics) and the admissible ones as seen from the disturbing loads. These disturbances have explicitly been taken into account in the Concession Contract, and non-compliance with the compatibility rules is imperative.
