Abstract
Simultaneous all-optical 3R regeneration and NRZ to RZ format conversion is demonstrated for the first time in an integrated SOA/DFB laser. After 10l km of standard fiber, a negative BER penalty of 1.5 dB is achieved after all-optical regeneration.
