Abstract
The Wide-Area Measurement System (WAMS) technology utilizes Phasor Measurement Unit (PMU) to monitor real-time power system data, which can provide unique insights into the global operation of the power grid. A PMU based wide-area fault detection technique for single-line-to-ground fault is proposed in this paper. The proposed technique is verified to be accurate by conducting case studies in a large power grid.
