Abstract :
Propagation characteristics of electromagnetic waves along a plasma column with uneven axial density distribution are studied by calculating the wave numbers in radial direction as well as the wave vectors of the surface wave in axial direction. The electric current distribution is derived and the radiation patterns of a unipole plasma antenna are presented on the VHF band.
