  • Abstract
    A low-cost embedded wireless aggregation manager for telehealth and telecare solutions is presented. The aggregation manager (AM) acts as a single platform and gateway for simultaneous telehealth and telecare data. AM device acquires telehealth data from medical devices using Bluetooth Health Device Profile. Telecare data from social alarm systems is obtained by means of dual-tone multi-frequency (DTMF) tone signals using British BS 8521:2009 and Tunstall communication protocol. Telehealth and telecare data is forwarded by aggregation manager to remote care-center and family members both by Ethernet and cellular packet network GPRS / SMS.
