Agile enterprise - research on flexibility

Agile enterprise is this one that looks for and uses short life time opportunities. Agility is strongly required in changeable environment as such environment generates opportunities. The environment of contemporary enterprises is considered to be turbulent and unpredictable. To be competitive the enterprise has to cumulate and distribute through its structure the crucial resource that is knowledge. To express the role of this resource the external conditions in which the enterprises act are called Knowledge Based Economy (KBE). An assumption has been made that to use the opportunities created by KBE the enterprise should be agile. However to be agile it has to be bright, flexible, intelligent and shroud. In this paper some findings on adaptation of Polish enterprises to the Knowledge Based Economy are presented. The results are limited to the aspect of flexibility of the enterprises.
