Abstract
This paper focuses on a novel filter structure, termed the `parallel interconnection of cascade subfilters´ (PICS) structure. The PICS structure is a structure which has been developed to overcome practical problems with the realisation of high order recursive filters. The benefits of this structure are discussed, and initial results from a practical investigation of filters realised with this structure are presented
