Abstract :
Nowadays the public transportation is submitted to severe restrictions on emissions and there are considerable incentives for low-emission technologies. In this scenario, e-bus stands out as a viable alternative. Although the weight and volume of batteries has been the an issue for electric vehicles, the urban bus has some characteristics such as predefined routes and stops that contribute to optimized onboard storage and regular recharging. This paper shows the analysis of a system based on regular ultra-fast charging at the bus stops for applications on a Bus Rapid Transit using battery e-bus and utracapacitor e-bus. Also, it is proposed the using of batteies as secondary source in the utracapacitor e-bus for operating on more demanded consumptions cycles. This allows to reduce the storage pack sizing. Based on computer simulation and e-bus technology considerations, an actual high grade BRT route in Brazil is analyzed.
