Abstract :
We experimentally demonstrated 11.1 Gb/s QAM-16 direct-detection OFDM transmission over 1600 km of uncompensated standard fiber using 0-5.55 GHz band. We also investigated the effect of self-phase modulation and observed penalties comparable to systems using QPSK-OFDM.
