Abstract :
A constrained least mean square (LMS) algorithm was adapted by Godara and Gray (1989) to take advantage of the Toeplitz nature of the array correlation matrix (ACM). This algorithm, which they termed the structured gradient method, was shown to have superior convergence properties, as well as reduced weight noise. This paper explores the nature of the ACM for a circular array and the structured gradient algorithm is adapted and tested. The convergence properties and computational expense are investigated.
