Rationalisation as a route to reliability

The purpose of this paper is to offer an insight into some alternative thoughts for increasing the reliability of vehicle connector systems, without resorting to complicated testing procedures or long, drawn-out development programmes with connector suppliers. Put in simple terms, the paper will attempt to explain the benefits of using a greatly rationalised number of connector types on a vehicle to try to achieve the ultimate goal of a perfect electrical wiring system.<>
