Abstract :
A high pressure xenon scintillation drift chamber with the field of view of 30 cm in diameter has been built and tested as two-dimensional gamma-imaging detector in the energy range of <100 keV. It is experimentally shown the camera is workable in the electronically collimated mode as Compton camera. 25 mm system resolution is measured at imaging of 140 keV point-like source placed at the 10.5 cm distance from the entrance window of the camera without any collimator. The system resolution is limited only with spatial resolution of the 19 channel readout system based on 80 mm diameter phototubes. Possible ways for improvement of imaging characteristics are discussed
