Abstract :
This article presents a multi-frequency planar monopole antenna whose antenna height is only about of 0.05 times the wavelength of the lowest operating frequency. The studied antenna is not only capable of multi-band operation, but also possesses omni-directional radiation for all operation bands. The impedance bandwidth covers almost all present wireless communication systems of global system for mobile communication (GSM), including digital communication system (DCS), personal communication system (PCS), universal mobile communication system (UMTS), and industrial science medical (ISM) band. The detailed proposed design and experimental results are presented and discussed.
