Abstract :
In this paper, we demonstrate a new phenomenon at the interface RH/LH the emergence of surface plasmons at the frequency where the two media have the same electromagnetic density (i.e. refractive indexes of same magnitude, but opposite signs). Conventional surface plasmons occur at the interface between two dielectric media coated by a thin layer of metal; they couple to the evanescent wave due to total internal reflection at the specific incidence angle corresponding to the plasmon resonance. The plasmons described here are very different because they appear in two media of same density and do not require a metal collector, using the plasmonic nature of the LH structure instead of that of metal.
