Abstract
This paper presents a 3D registration method of augmented reality (AR) based on fundamental matrix. In this method, the fundamental matrix theory of polar geometry is used to calculate the camera movement parameters up to scale according to the matching points of the different images in the case of fixed focus. Then two or more 3D control points are selected to find the scale factor and the camera movement parameters can be determined. Because of the requirement of less control points, the method has wide adaptability. In the end an experimental result shows that the method is valid.
