Abstract
As the communication networks have evolved toward supporting broadband services, design of resource engineering and management has become more complicated and difficult. In this paper, we deal with the associated issues and present an integrated strategy of resource engineering and control. To accommodate various service characteristics and to satisfy their quality demands, methodologies of resource engineering are derived. Based on the well-engineered results, we further develop policy of resource control to effectively allocate network resources, so as to reduce the processing overhead of resource control and management during the setup phase
