Abstract :
This work in progress paper reports the philosophy and curricular content of a newly-designed electrical and computer engineering major, together with the implementation plan for a change from the EE major to the ECE major. The reasons for the current small number of ECE programs are discussed, along with an explanation of changes which make the ECE major more feasible. The rationale for offering a single ECE major, rather than offering students the option of both EE and computer engineering majors is presented
