Abstract
The question of the current conversion for the concordance of the parameters of the power source and its consumers (ERT) are being spared attention in consequence of the elaboration of the powerful nuclear reactor on the basis of TEC for providing space apparatus with electrical energy. The questions concerned with the elaboration of the high temperature high voltage switches for the converter and concordance systems of the electrical parameters of powerful TEC and electric thrusters are connected with the problem of securing of the inter-electrode gap strength to the reverse electrical breakdown by the high temperatures of electrode on the 1000-10000 V level. The experimental breakdown characteristics and voltage-current characteristics (VCC) on the metal-ceramic model of the high temperature high voltage diode have been obtained. The parameters of diode were optimized: cathode and anode temperature, operating pressure into inter-electrode gap, the length of inter-electrode gap. As a result of the research the dependencies of the thermo-physics parameters of the high temperature high voltage diode have been obtained. Aatisfactory coincidence between the experimental and theoretical data has been obtained
