Since the economic reform and opening-up, the foreign trade of Shandong has been developing rapidly; exports have become one of the most important driving forces of economic growth. The role that imports play on economic growth has long been neglected by people, and related studies are few. Now, in the background of export frustration, soaring energy demand, frequent trade friction, it is of great significance to analyze the impacts of imports on Shandong´s economy. This article makes an empirical analysis of the import´s impact on Shandong´s economy. In conclusion, we get that the import can promote the economic growth and we have also made some relevant policy recommendations.
