Abstract :
Effect of resonators at both ends of the slow wave structure on the operation of the TM02 mode relativistic backward wave oscillator is studied. The front resonators effectively reflect the microwave back and quicken the oscillation startup by beam premodulation. The rear resonators slightly postpones the startup because of the further energy extraction. With the help of the resonators, the conversion efficiency are promoted greatly.
