A system of integrating videos and maps for the identification of building object

A system of integrating the information relating to the real-world in news videos with maps is proposed. In this system, the function is realized mainly by recognizing the information on building objects (building images, building or place names appearing in news video) based on a database called Multimedia Map Database (MMD). Therefore, Multimedia Map Database is first constructed using 3D data of digital maps and building images, and the information in the database is indexed using flexible methods according to the need of the application. Then, based on this database, the recognition of information relating to the real-world in news videos is done by employing images and caption information synthetically. We present our approach on two main issues: the construction of Multimedia Map Database, and the method of integrating video information in maps. Finally, experimental results reveal the efficacy of the proposed method
