Abstract :
The TCP global synchronization problem is a phenomenon that congestion window control actions of multiple TCP flows are synchronized and causes inefficient use of network bandwidth. RED is a well known mechanisms to avoid this problem. However, the possible discard of packets based on probabilistic mechanism might not be fair enough. For this problem, we have proposed a transmission rate control base on the chaos of the coupled oscillators to avoid the synchronization problem and keep the fairness as well. However, this proposal lacks how to determine an appropriate value of parameter with respect to the link bandwidth. In this paper, we discuss the optimal parameter setting for efficient link utilization in this transmission rate control and evaluate its validity through simulation experiments.
