Abstract
This paper describes an enhanced positioning service based on the broadcasting of EGNOS corrections over radio data system in the 87-107 MHz FM band. The RDS is well suitable for EGNOS broadcasting, and is also economically attractive. The experiments showed that the EGNOS-RDS powered GPS receiver provides positions as accurate as those provided by an EGNOS standard receiver. No significant loss of accuracy has been observed even in an urban RDS channel.
