Abstract :
Three-dimensional gait analysis (including kinematic analysis and dynamic analysis) for clinical diagnosis of pathological gait disorders can provide a reliable basis for development and efficacy evaluation of rehabilitation programs. Under certain circumstances of laboratories, it is usually more difficult to obtain the patient´s real gait information by the traditional three-dimensional gait analysis methods (based on markers-based human motion capture in video, pressure plate, etc.). This paper proposes a new method for kinematic parameters extraction of pathological gait based on 3D tracking trajectory of head vertex due to the results of prior work. And the kinematic parameters of pathological gait are extracted from the three-dimensional trajectory of the head vertex (including the vertical displacement and lateral displacement) formed during the patient walking in a multi-camera vision system. Preliminary results show the method is simple, effective with small amount of computation.
