Abstract :
A novel voting algorithm for redundant aircraft sensors has been presented. The presented voting algorithm is based on priority voting concept according to different priorities (are being changed in real time according to distance classification technique) given for each sensor´s measurement in real time. The proposed algorithm permits an accurate fault detection and isolation of incorrect measurements. A series of fault inoculation experiments has been carried out for approval. The results are compared with those of the exact majority voter (EMV) and the enhanced weighted average voter (EWAV) demonstrating that the proposed algorithm gives better performance in terms of reliability or availability than the two other voters.
