  • Abstract
Effect of materials extracted from Pruns Mongolica on the feeding behavior of the 3 thinstar larvae of plutella xylostella was studied. The results showed that the temporal feeding patterns of the 3 thinstar larvae which were treated with materials extracted from Prunus Mongolica were different from those untreated through continual observation for 24 h in the laboratory. The meal number and net time spent on feeding in a meal of the 3 thinstar larvae of plutella xylostella during 24 h were significantly reduced on P. mongolica extract treated leaves. However, the inter-feeding gap length significantly increased. In the experiments on the crude extracts effect on larvae feeding behavior, effect of extracts from peel was greater than that from leaf. Moreover, effect of different concentrateon of the same extracts was different, and 250g.L-1 extracts was greater than 500g.L-1.
