Abstract
A digital filter design and optimization method for sampling rate alteration of narrow-band signal waveforms is presented, using the sinusoidal signal model. The resulting filters are linear-phase finite impulse response filters which remove the aliasing or imaging frequency components before the sampling rate is changed. Two approaches are discussed according to whether the sample rate is changed by an integer factor M or a rational factor M/L. The proposed narrow-band multirate techniques can be applied in digital measurement or control systems in industrial electronics
