Abstract :
Control problems for translation motion of an elastic body are considered. One requires to move a body a given distance provided the oscillations would be absolutely damped after the end of a control force. This problem is reduced to scalar control problems for a denumerable set of linear oscillators. This problem is examined for a finite set of oscillators. The solution is based on the Fourier transform
