Abstract :
This paper studies an electro-cortical activity model, which can generate different type Electroencephalogram (EEG) like waves with proper parameters. By linearizing the model, Jacobian matrix and the stability of equilibrium point are obtained. Choosing excitatory and inhibitory inputs as parameters, the mean soma membrane potentials of excitatory populations´s output solution space is obtained by numerical simulations. Furthermore, bifurcation diagrams show that the model exhibits a series of complex dynamics, including limit cycle, periodic doubling bifurcation, periodic halving bifurcation, chaotic bands with periodic windows. This paper provides the evidence that chaos exists in the model.
