  • Abstract
Grouping the Home Circuits (HCs) with the same source is a critical issue of Labeled Optical Burst Switching with Home Circuit (LOBS-HC), a novel enhanced LOBS strategy. To maximize the wavelength utilization in LOBS-HC ring networks, a dynamic HC grouping and wavelength assignment scheme, called Symmetric Group-Sets Sharing Wavelengths (SGSW), is proposed. The main idea behind SGSW is to share wavelengths among group sets according to the feature of symmetric group sets that they can form a circle in clockwise direction and a circle in counterclockwise direction, respectively. They do not overlap on the routing and are able to share wavelengths with each other. In addition, bandwidth of a wavelength can also be shared by the HCs belonging to a same group. The numerical results show that SGSW performs better than some heuristics under both arbitrary and uniform traffic in bidirectional LOBS-HC ring networks in terms of wavelength utilization.
