Abstract :
The fuel cells are considered as one of the most promising distributed energy resource due to its cleanliness, modularity and higher potential capability. Fuel cell connected to grid with power electronic (PE) system interfaced with right control is capable of providing reactive power related ancillary services. In this paper, proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) based PE is proposed to regulate local voltage in distribution system. Adaptive voltage control algorithm is used as control strategy for this system. The proposed system is developed and simulated in MATLAB/SimPowerSystem environment under different system condition and show that this system is capable of satisfying the fast response speed requirement.
