Abstract :
A new type of microstrip antenna is presented for the application in the wide-band code-division-multiple-access (WCDMA) handsets. Two quarter-wavelength patches are adopted and fed separately for the transmitting frequency band and receiving frequency band respectively. The antenna has the property of low-cost, compact size and good flexibility. With the method of moment, the impedance of each feeding port, coupling between the two ports and the radiation pattern are calculated. The antenna is suitable for practical implementation from the simulated results.
