Abstract
The emergence of the Internet allows the business paradigms to interact with each other, referred as e-commerce or e-business. Web services need to meet both functional and non-functional requirements of their customers. Performance problems in these applications may be severe that they require extensive changes in the system architecture. Hence, it is important to provide support for early assessment of the performance characteristics of e-commerce. Different combinations of configurations for the hardware resources are considered in the experimental setup. We have analyzed the impact of various parameters to obtain the performance of the web services. The correlation between the parameters and response time is presented. In this paper, we have presented the results of experimental study of the web services by choosing few mail servers.
