Abstract :
This paper proposes a fast adaptive photovoltaic (PV) dc boost converter cascaded control scheme insensitive to solar irradiance variations. Moreover, the proposed controller makes possible the utilization of film capacitors instead of electrolytic capacitors to achieve long converter´s lifetime. To achieve these objectives, it is proposed a current controller that works in both discontinuous conduction modes (DCM) and continuous conduction modes (CCM), a PV equivalent resistance estimator with active disturbance injection, and an adaptive voltage controller. The proposed controllers are described in detail and validated by simulation results.
