Abstract :
In general, the purpose of solar tracking system is to orient the panels towards the sun position at any time from the sunrise to sunset. The accuracy is far more essential especially in the concentrator solar panel, knowing that it efficiency decreases drastically once the tracker becomes inaccurate. In this study, we have been working in such a way to increase the accuracy of a tracking system, and minimize the inertia on the dc motor by applying the H-bridge driver circuit suitable for dc motor control with low power consumption. A PIC Microcontroller 18F4550 is used to monitor the tracking system along the azimuth axis and the elevation axis in both sunny and cloudy days. The detection of the sun position is based on four light dependent resistors. The wind load was also considered by designing an anemometer that is used to set the panels in horizontal safe position.
