Abstract :
This paper presents a study of end loss efficiency in linear Fresnel reflector system. It gives the mathematical equations on which the study was based. These equations were implemented in a C language program enabling calculation of hourly, daily and annually end loss efficiencies. A parametric analysis of these efficiencies was done according to the receiver´s height and length, day number of the year, latitude and apparent solar time. Results showed that a significant fluctuation in daily end loss efficiency occurred during the year. This fluctuation was less important for low latitudes. Also, results showed that the best daily efficiencies were not recorded in summer. Instead they were recorded in March 21 and October 21. For the receiver, results indicated that low and long receiver enabled obtaining better efficiencies. For a very long receiver, daily efficiency showed less fluctuation especially for low latitudes.
