Abstract :
A new nonuniform helical dual band antenna was presented. The antenna can be tuned to different frequency bands. An example of an antenna tuned to GSM (900 MHz) and DCS (1800 MHz) bands is presented. This antenna is used in Ericsson T18 and T10 mobile handsets. The performance of the real antenna is presented as well as the results of the computer simulations with a software package based on the finite element method. The simulated results agree well with the reality.
